Former US President Donald Trump is facing indictment on four counts, including conspiracy to defraud the US, tampering with a witness, and conspiracy against the rights of citizens. The charges come as a result of an inquiry into events surrounding the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol.
The indictment alleges that Mr. Donald Trump plotted to overturn his 2020 election defeat, focusing on his actions during the two months between his loss to Joe Biden and the violent riot that saw his supporters storming Congress during the certification of the Democrat’s victory.
