India Rule Day 1 of Dominica Test against WI; Ashwin bags fifer

Date:

India came all guns blazing into the Dominica test against West Indies. After bundling up West Indies for 150, India are now 80 for no loss and looks set to put on a mammoth score to plunder upon the misery of the West Indies cricket team.

The day started when BCCI handed over the debut caps to Yashashvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan, followed by the toss which West Indies won and opted to bat.

The decision look regrettable right from the start as WI kept losing wickets, despite a few small partnerships the overall team didn’t out a great show, thanks to the spin twins – Ashwin and Jadeja, who took 6 wickets among them. Ashwin took 5 wickets and also went to complete 700 wickets for India overall. While the pace attack comprising Siraj, Jaydev, and Thakur took care of the rest.

India looks to score big

In return, Ind started on a positive note. Rohit showed his aggressive side and was well supported by the West Indies bowling as they kept on spraying the ball over the pitch to give extra runs. Jaiswal who was cautious at the start took his time to settle in, he opened his account with a 4 on the 18th ball he faced, after which it was a show of class and aggression.

The men in blue are on top of the game right from day 1 and this showcases the trajectory of where the series is heading.

Let’s hope for a fightback from the Carribean side as it will spice up things and the contest will be overwhelming, or else Rohit Sharma’s men will storm on their misery.
