Yashasvi Jaiswal Scores Century on Debut
In the course, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first Indian opener to score a hundred on debut on foreign soil while overall the 3rd Indian opener to score a century, the previous ones being Shikhar Dhawan against Australia and Prithvi Shaw against West Indies, both of them scored their respective debut hundreds on Indian soil.
India has already garnered a lead of 75+ runs and they still have all their wickets remaining. While this news was written, India’s score read – 242/2 in 80.2 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal batting on 116* and Virat Kohli batting on 1*.
India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma just after he scored his 10th century. He got out to Athanaze at 103, while Shubhman Gill got out at 6 against Warrican.
India already looks dominant in the Dominica test and will look to score in excess of 500+ to give their bowlers ample amount of time to bundle up the West Indies team and will try to win the match without having to bat in the second innings. If they win this way, they will give their World Test Championship run rate a much needed boost.
